During the summer of 2010 a group of artists, who met at local festivals and markets, realized that there is a common bond and interest here in the Tappahannock area to network and have a centralized “art” resource.
The first co-op meeting was at one of the artist's studio with 4 people in attendance. The interest and enthusiasm for this project was spread by word of mouth and the steering committee was formed with 7 core artists and business persons who are passionate about and committed to building a strong and successful co-op in Tappahannock, VA.

 Karin Andrews is a fine artist, muralist, charitable/volunteer worker, lover of Essex County. She has painted the mural in the Ritchie House Addition which is the conference room for Dillard and Katona, done a large number of paintings by commission and is now working on a series of paintings and have about 29 different prints and note cards of the Essex County Map Print, that are sold in Lowerys, Crying Shame, various craft and museum shops. Recently formed a new Corporation "Everyday Opulence, Ltd" which will be dedicated to opulent living and creating an opulent environment in which to live and work. Karin works closely with the Essex County Countryside Alliance on PR and website for the organization, and she also works as a realtor with Frank Hardy Inc., a realty company dealing in upper echelon and higher end homes and historic properties in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Konst & Konstantina Konstantinov

 Affectionately known on the St. Margaret's School campus as “the KonKons,” Konst and Konstantina have been brightening the local art scene since their arrival. They teach the largest variety of classes, focusing on different types of art and expression, including Studio Art, Drawing, Painting, Illustration, Fashion Design, Ceramics, Mosaics, Photography, and Mixed Media. In addition, the KonKons teach community classes and locally display their own work. Many of their pieces, generally using nature as their muse, can be seen around campus, at St. John's church, Riverside Hospital, and exhibits at various venues in the area. The KonKons previous work has been displayed in many exhibitions in Austria and Malta and can be seen on The KonKons website. |

Anne Careatti

Anne Careatti paints mostly with watercolors. She is inspired by nature, and the drawing and prints of Japanese 18th and 19th century artists. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows including Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, The National Arts Club NYC, Madison Wisconsin National Watercolors Exhibition, and Fine Arts Fast Ducks National Wildlife Art Show. Jennifer Donald

Fine artist Jennifer Donald works in acrylic paints and creates realistic works with a variety of subjects. From still life to wildlife and anything in between, Jennifer puts a nostalgic feel to her vision of life in Virginia. Jennifer is a regular exhibiting fine artist at every Tappahannock Farmers Market and has been the Featured Artist of the Month at The Market, Java Jacks Coffee House, and the Essex County Library as well as many Northern Neck markets and art shows.

RIVAH COUNTRY PAINTERS

 The Rivah Country Painters represent a group of artists who live primarily in the Middle Peninsula – Northern Neck. For over fifteen years our group has met every Wednesday to create, share, and critique individual artwork. The members of our group have diverse interests, talents, and levels of experience and training. Although our group has benefited from the expertise of instructors and guest artists over the years, the greatest opportunity for growth has come from the weekly sharing among members.
The Rivah Country Painters have shown their work in recent years at local festivals (RivahFest, Locust Grove Wine and Art Festival, Rappahannock River Run and Craft Festival), in various restaurants and local businesses, in county libraries and in local art studios. Although our group uses a variety of mediums, watercolor seems to be the medium preferred by most members. The scenery and people of the Middle Peninsula – Northern Neck provide most of the subject matter for our artwork. However, some of our artists use their painting to share their experiences from their trips across this country and around the world.
